We are finally here. Today, you can officially pre-order the e-book of my new book, Whispers from the Machine. A Whispers from the Machine pre-order is the best way to support the launch and ensure you get your copy the moment it drops.

Currently, the book is exclusive to Amazon. It is incredibly exciting, and a little nerve-wracking, to finally hit that “finalize” button. The question that haunts every author is: Did I miss anything? I will be the first to admit I am not the best at proofing. Luckily, I have a fantastic team supporting me, but even then, the number of times I thought “it’s ready” only to find one more tiny mistake is staggering. But this time, I truly think we are there. Any remaining tweaks would just be me fussing over word choice and sentence structure until the cows come home. It is done. I am locking it in. We are ready for your Whispers from the Machine pre-order.

The Journey Since 2024

The idea first popped into my brain late in 2024, and by the start of 2025, I committed to writing it. Now, in early 2026, it is finished. When you place a Whispers from the Machine pre-order, you are seeing the result of two years of hard graft.

Looking back, it is easy to forget how many times I was not sure I would even finish the manuscript. As an indie author, the steps to publication were a steep learning curve. I am grateful for the weekly reading group I set up: having a reason to push the next chapter out to fans was a small but vital motivator. It is like committing to run with a friend; it is much harder to find an excuse to quit when someone is waiting for you.

Surprisingly, being made redundant also helped. Having that dedicated “focus time” allowed me to move through drafting, editing, and typesetting much faster. Deciding to use that time to truly be an “author,” as ridiculous as that sounded at the time, was the right call.

What is Coming Next

While your Whispers from the Machine pre-order is live, there is still work to do before the full launch.

  • Paperbacks: Are ready, proof prints approved, and will be avaible for order on the relase date of 03 April 2026 on Amazon.
  • Hardbacks: Unfortunately, the direct-print hardbacks from KDP did not meet my quality standards. I want to provide a product I am proud of, so I am currently exploring alternatives like IngramSpark. I will be ordering proof copies soon, and if they hold up, I will offer hardbacks through them in time for the launch.
  • Audiobook: The audiobook is now in production! I am working with a talented narrator, Hetty Eliot, who is truly bringing the pages to life. Hearing the prologue the other night was a surreal moment where I could finally appreciate the story as a reader, or listener, rather than a self-critical editor.

Crossing the Finish Line

With the Whispers from the Machine pre-order live and the final pieces of the pipeline moving, we are looking forward to the full launch in April.

To me, this is not about hitting a “podium” or being a bestseller: it is about a personal best. Crossing the finish line is the win, even if I am at the back of the pack. Let us see where this journey goes. Thank you for making a Whispers from the Machine pre-order part of that success.
